Research tells us that children learn to hear sounds very easily through play. Those children who know lots of nursery rhymes also tend to do well in reading and writing.
Exciting materials will also be used in the course to enrich practitoners' knowledge and skills when working with children in this area. The session will be active and practical in its approach.

Memory Boxes and Time Capsules
Encouraging children to tell each other about their own early experience s using photographs and artefacts to create a treasury of personal memories enables children to reflect on their knowledge of the world and communicate their ideas and feelings with others. Memory boxes provide a opportunity for children to learn about and respect cultural and gender differences. A memory box can become an important way of pasing on memories of treasured times and coping with emotional events.
