The Equality Act 2010 became an Act of parliament on 8th April 2010 and it replaces existing anti-discrimination legislation with a single Act.

Increase your understanding of the purpose of an Equality Impact Assessment(EIA).the responsibilities of managers and the process of undertaking an EIA.
Course objectives
This course is designed to enable delegates to develop an understanding of the Council's EIA process, so that they feel confident and well resourced to complete EIAs within their Directorates. By the end of this half-day course delegates will have developed knowledge about:
- Why it is necessary to conduct EIAs
- How the EIAs for their Directorates have been structured
- The links with the performance management process.
Delegates will also be able to make practical progress on EIAs they have responsibility for, by working through exercises with their peers and members of the corporate equalities team.
