This one day course is to provide basic dementia awareness training for direct care staff in Care Homes and Home Care services.  The learning is linked to the Skills for Care Knowledge Set in Dementia.

Recognising & Responding to Adult Abuse & Neglect - In Depth Knowledge

This programme builds on the knowledge from the Recognising and Responding to Adult Abuse and Neglect- Foundation Learning. The programme takes an in depth look at good practice relating to identifying types of abuse, and the signs that can indicate abuse and neglect. Good practice in communication and how to respond to disclosures of abuse and neglect are explored, together with looking more closely at the participants role and responsibilities in the adult protection process. Links to other relevant legislation is examined, and the course looks at good practice in preserving evidence and record keeping/report writing.
