 Guidance for Applicants and Recruiters

·         It is vital that applicants are aware of the commitment to the pool, not just for the training. They must discuss this with their manager before applying

·         Those wishing to join the pool by training as a coach must complete an application form and meet the necessary criteria set out in the Role Profile and Person Spec - all available from the website

·         Board members or Coach Champions need to review the applications against the criteria to assess whether the applicant is suitable

·         Details of successful applicants should be forwarded to the pool along with payment information (Finance contact, invoice address and PO Number)

·         Places will be allocated based on need i.e. if an organisation will be losing current coaches in the next 12 months their applicants will have priority to allow them to continue their level of coaches in the pool 

 In addition if you have any qualified coaches who would like to join the pool, information about the application process for them can also be found on the above webpage. I will be running a briefing for some qualified coaches who are looking to join the pool in the next couple of weeks so if you have anyone who would also like to join, it would be good to run the session with a number of people so they get to meet other coaches.

The West Midlands Coaching Pool is looking to build the capacity of its pool of coaches and aim to train employees of the partner organisations to ILM Level 7 in Executive Coaching and Leadership Mentoring.

Participants should be practising or potential senior managers with a background that enables them to benefit from the coaching programme. Most benefit will be gained if participants have prior experience of with middle management experience or within a HR Domain

Programme Requirements

·         Attending 7 full day workshops

·         Read and Practice coaching within own workplace (between sessions, approx 50 additional hours)

·         Qualification ILM Level 7 issued following successful completion of work-based assignment

·         Once trained, act as a coach on behalf of the West Midlands Coaching Pool and also receive supervision.
